The Cambodian Embassy in South Korea requested yesterday that Korean police arrest a Chinese man accused of violently attempting to rape a Cambodian worker, read a post on the Facebook page of Cambodian Ambassador Long Dimanche.
Suong Sreynich, 28, from Takeo, was working in a factory in Gyeonggi-do province on Tuesday evening when a Chinese manager attempted to rape her, the post said. A video of the attack, which shows Sreynich’s attacker sitting on top of her and striking her repeatedly as she lay on the floor, surfaced on the internet yesterday.
Yesterday morning, embassy officials contacted the factory owner and requested that authorities arrest the suspect.
“I met with the victim and ordered our officials to accompany her to have her head checked since [the attack] was serious,” Dimanche said.
